Driver Charged In Fatal VA Crash That Threw Moped Rider On SUV Windshield Before He Rolled Off

A 41-year-old Maryland woman has been charged in a crash that killed a moped operator two weekends ago in Virginia, authorities said.

Tiffany Lowan Randolph, of Upper Marlboro, has been charged with reckless driving in the Sunday, Aug. 20 crash in Woodbridge, Prince William County police said.

Raondolph struck a moped from behind on Neabsco Mills Road near Smoke Court around 1:45 a.m., while in a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, county police said.

The operator of the 2018 Yamaha FX 5, 67-year-old Junaid Mahmood Qureshi, of Woodbridge, was thrown from the moped onto the windshield of the Malibu then rolled to the ground. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased on scene. 

Randolph remained at the scene. Speed, alcohol, and drug use were not factors in the crash, police said.
